Maggie Severns is a program associate for New America’s Education Policy Program. Ms. Severns conducts research and analysis on education equity, funding, best practices, and emerging research. She authors original articles and policy briefs, and contributes regularly to New America’s Early Ed Watch and Higher Ed Watch blogs.

Ms. Severns has experience as a student teacher and as an English as a second language teacher in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. She holds a B.A. with Honors in Government and English from Dartmouth College, where she wrote a senior thesis on poetry.
