Now is an ideal time for foundations to engage in national discussions about how to extend the benefits of high speed Internet access to the entire country. The federal government has launched an unprecedented broadband funding program at a moment where both broadband and funding are sorely needed. Foundations can play an important role supporting their grantees' and communities' participation in both the national discussion and the federal funding program. The resources was prepared to help foundations understand the role they can play in targeted broadband interventions. However, the principles can be used by any organization interested in taking leadership and bringing partners together for the current or future broadband opportunities.
