July 22, 2010 |

On March 24, 2010, the New America Foundation and MDRC held a private convening of experts to share the early findings and implications of the AutoSave pilot, to invite discussion of the pilot’s purpose and the research questions it seeks to explore, and to solicit feedback on potential future directions for the project. Representing public and private, local and federal perspectives, attendees reflected on the design, evaluation, and policy-related aspects of AutoSave’s efforts to use the workplace as a channel for providing a low-or no-cost, non-restricted use savings account.
