AutoSave is a unique savings plan that automatically diverts, through payroll deduction, a small amount of post-tax wages into an individual savings account. In their presentation at the October 28, 2009 Behavioral Economics and Policy Meeting at the New America Foundation, Alejandra Lopez-Fernandini and Reid Cramer discussed the AutoSave pilot, the behavioral principles that informed the pilot design, and the insights AutoSave can offer for policy.
