A Short Course in Carbon Market Design
New America Foundation's Climate Policy Program works with states and regions to help them navigate the issues involved in their efforts to design and implement emissions trading programs and to build the infrastructure for the carbon market of the future.
Between December 2007 and February 2008, the New America Foundation, World Resources Institute and the Pew Center on Global Climate Change hosted a ten-webinar series on how to design a state or regional cap-and-trade program. The impetus behind the series was to share insights and lessons learned for all state officials, stakeholders and interested parties engaged in designing a cap and trade program and to help them understand the available design choices.
Over 450 people registered for the 10 session series. The webinars, which were recorded for webcast, are between 1.5 and two hours in length, are in the format of short PowerPoint presentations narrated by the speaker, followed by audience questions, and panel discussion.
Our series brings together speakers with extensive experience in planning and implementing cap-and-trade programs in the United States and abroad. Here, is a library of all of the sessions for your use:
