WASHINGTON,
DC -- Today the New America Foundation's Education Policy Program
released a new version of its Federal Education Budget Project (FEBP) website,
www.EdBudgetProject.org. Since its official launch in June of 2008, the FEBP website
and database have provided state and school district funding, demographic, and
achievement data to policymakers, the media, and the public.
The new version of the website features a more user-friendly
interface with improved graphics. The site has several new functions,
including:
- A customizable
comparison function for states and schools districts;
- Fast
and easy data downloads; and
- State-
and district-level maps.
In addition to the new functions, the new site includes new and
updated data, including:
- State-
and district-level stimulus allocations, including Title I, IDEA, and
State Fiscal Stabilization Funds;
- State
and district Title I, IDEA and Impact Aid allocations;
- Demographic
data; and
- Urban,
suburban, town, and rural locale distinctions for school districts.
The new version of the site maintains several years of state-
and district-level funding, achievement, and demographic data following the
flow of federal dollars to states and school districts. Additionally, the site
provides background and analysis on major federal education programs, national
rankings maps, policy papers and issue briefs, and links to the FEBP blog, Ed Money Watch.
