As a Program Associate for the Health Policy Program, Ms. Hughes writes for the New Health Dialogue blog and assists program leadership in event coordination, communication, and research.

Ms. Hughes is a cum laude graduate of the American University Honors Program with degrees in political science and philosophy and a certificate in leadership studies. She wrote her senior honors thesis on President Clinton's early nineties efforts to reform the health care system. Before joining the New America Foundation, Ms. Hughes had internships in the field of health care policy and communications at the DC press office of Senator Robert Casey, Jr. (D-PA) and the Jewish Healthcare Foundation in Pittsburgh.
