Kate Brown

As Media Relations Manager, Kate Brown acts as the liaison between the press and New America staff and fellows, doing proactive and reactive outreach and finding the proper place for New America's experts within a constantly changing news cycle. As a former radio and television producer and on-air personality, she understands the value of balancing substantive information with rapidity of execution.

Prior to her work at New America Foundation, Ms. Brown was the media relations manager for The Washington Times, and has also worked as a freelance producer for the BBC. She began her career as a producer and host for Wisconsin Public Radio, and came to Washington, DC, in 2006 to help launch Washington Post Radio. Ms. Brown earned her bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
