Jennifer Cohen

Education Policy Program, Federal Education Budget Project
Jennifer
Cohen is a Policy Analyst with the Education Policy Program at the New
America Foundation. She manages the foundation’s Federal Education Budget
Project Web site, analyzes national school finance data, and researches
and writes policy papers, op-eds, and commentary for the project's blog, Ed Money Watch.Org.
Before
joining New America, Ms. Cohen worked for the Education Policy
Center at the Urban
Institute, where she performed quantitative and qualitative research on such issues
as high school reform, teacher pensions, school funding, and the need for
career-relevant courses in today's public schools. Among other projects, she
examined the impact of high school reform efforts on academic achievement in
both Baltimore City
and North Carolina
using longitudinal, student-level data. She holds a master’s degree in policy, organization,
and leadership studies from the Stanford University School of Education.
