As a Research Associate for the Bernard L. Schwartz Fellows Program, Emily Gallagher researches a wide-variety of topics for the fellows. She contributes to New America’s economics blog, “Value Added,” and spends time with the Asset Building Program working on the policy implications of the “un-banked.”
Before joining New America, Ms. Gallagher worked as a Financial Analyst at Alcoa. She also worked on the trading floor of Deutsche Bank in London, where she had a front-row seat to the 2008 financial market collapse from within the stock lending department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Latin American Studies from the University of Michigan. In September 2009, she will begin a graduate degree program in economics at the Sorbonne in Paris.
