As Associate Policy Director for the Health Policy Program at the New America Foundation, Elizabeth Carpenter focuses on the need for comprehensive coverage expansion that emphasizes both personal and shared responsibility, as well as cost growth containment. Additionally, she works to encourage bipartisan conversations about health information technology, prevention and wellness, disparities in access to timely health care, and ways to make our delivery system more efficient.
Before joining New America, Ms. Carpenter served as a legislative and research assistant to Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), focusing on health care and education issues. Ms. Carpenter received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University.
