As Associate Policy Director for the Health Policy Program at the New America Foundation, Elizabeth Carpenter focused on the need for comprehensive coverage expansion that emphasizes both personal and shared responsibility, as well as cost growth containment. In February of 2010, Ms. Carpenter left for a health policy position with the Washington, D.C., law firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge.
Before joining New America, Ms. Carpenter served as a legislative and research assistant to Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), focusing on health care and education issues. Ms. Carpenter received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University.
