Until early 2008, Berna Yiğit Brannon was the Congressional Liaison for the Asset Building Program at the New America Foundation. She headed the program's policymaker education efforts, in addition to managing the Savings and Ownership Caucuses in the House and Senate, which the program helped launch in February 2005.
Prior to joining New America, Ms. Brannon was a Social Security Analyst at the Cato Institute. She has also worked as a strategic analyst at the Miller Brewing Company. She has spoken at numerous conferences both domestic and abroad. She has written for FoxNews.com and Dallas Morning News, among others. She has appeared on CNBC’s Bullseye and NPR’s To The Point and All Things Considered. Ms. Brannon received a bachelor’s degree in Economics as well as Applied Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and a master’s degree in Applied Economics from Marquette University.
