Andrew Lebovich is a Research
Associate for the American Strategy Program at the New America Foundation. He
researches and writes on terrorism, counterinsurgency, the Middle East, and North Africa. Mr. Lebovich is a contributor to the
popular foreign policy blog The Washington Note, and edits and contributes to
the New America blog The American Strategist.
Mr.
Lebovich previously worked as a research intern for the American Strategy
Program, and before coming to New America interned with Congressman Chris Van
Hollen (D-MD) and with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee majority staff.
He is a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College,
where he received high honors in history. His thesis, "Un Fusil, Une
Patrie: the Political Ideologies of OAS Terrorism During the French
Algerian War, 1961-1962," received the Peter J. Reichard 1966 Memorial
Research Award for the best thesis in the history department. Mr. Lebovich has
studied French history, language, and culture in Paris,
and conducted archival research in Aix-en-Provence
and Paris.
