Strategies to Thrive in Tough Economic Times

 
 

Assemblywoman Lori Saldaña opened the Women and Wealth Asset Policy Forum event, sponsored by the New America Foundation's Asset Building Program in partnership with the California Women's Legislative Caucus, the California Commission on the Status of Women, and the California Women's Agenda. Community organizations, members, and advocates gathered in San Diego to hear Mariko Chang discuss her latest research on the gender wealth gap, Claudia Viek talk about state and national entrepreneurial opportunities and policies in Sacramento, Forescee Hogan-Rowles discuss financial empowerment strategies for Californians, and Deborah Lindholm share how low-income women in San Diego have been able to build microenterprise and savings through micro-loans. The discussion was moderated by Olivia Calderon of the New America Foundation.
