Is Asia on the Rise?

Many of America’s top foreign policy scholars and pundits have predicted, even warned of Asia’s imminent rise as the leading economic power in the world. But writer Minxin Pei begs to differ. In the new issue of Foreign Policy magazine, he punctures the overheated rhetoric and offers a sharp reality check about Asia, where average incomes will still take 77 years to catch up with those in the United States and the continuation of fantastic rates of economic growth are not quite as guaranteed as many would lead you to believe.

Join Minxin Pei and New America Foundation’s Andrés Martinez for a spirited breakfast conversation on the potential of “Asia’s Rise.”

A light breakfast will be served.
