Richard Verma serves as Senior National Security Advisor to Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-NV). Prior to his service on Capitol Hill, Verma was an attorney at the law firm of Steptoe and Johnson. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and previously served on the staff of Congressman John P. Murtha (D-PA). Verma also worked overseas for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs and holds degrees from Lehigh, American and Georgetown Universities.
