COST: New Ad Campaign Links Health Care to Economic Recovery
One of those strange bedfellows for health reform has offered up a multi-million-dollar TV ad campaign showing the link between comprehensive health reform and economic recovery.
"Quality affordable health care. It's not just something we should do for America's families. It's something we must do for America's economy," is the tagline of the commercial. It opens with a grainy shot of a closed factory but shifts to sunnier pictures of thriving workers, underscoring the message that we need health reform to invigorate the economy, create jobs and enhance global competition.
The ad is sponsored by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the American Medical Association (AMA), Families USA, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), Regence BlueCross BlueShield, and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
The sponsoring groups called it a multi-million dollar national television buy that will run until at least Feb. 5.
It debuted the same day as President-elect Obama gives a speech on the need for economic stimulus, including health care.

It goes without saying that
It goes without saying that a healthy nation will surely accomplish many things. Obama made the right priority. Boost the health care system and you'll get a strong and satisfied workforce. The question now is, can Obama live up to his promises?
health care
I find this article very interesting Joanne; same goes with the ad campaigns. It is an effective idea to create ad campaigns that would help establish reforms in the health care area. Health care programs must be given priority because I agree that these aids in building the nation and economic recovery.
