Past corruption relief?

"The Bush administration has been accused of turning a blind eye to allegations of corruption in the student loan industry. Will the Department of Education, under your leadership, make enforcement of student loan law and regulations a higher priority than it has been?"

And will he provide relief for the victims of student loan farming that took place in the 1980's, that the US Senate (US Senate report 102-58) and the US House said happened in part because of the then dismal record of the US Dept of Education in providing required oversight, (which did not happen). The victims that congress said are still suffering today because they cannot pay the loans off, which have grown so much that even if some of those people gave their entire paychecks to the US Dept of Ed, they wouldn't even be able to pay the interest let alone collections fees or any of the principal.

I am for using grants, not "loans" to provide for Higher education. Loans have been used by a select few to financially rape a generation of students of their future earnings, instead of allowing those students to invest those earnings in homes, and raising families, thus creating communities and further strengthening the American society.
