That's probably an oxymoron. They're only supposed to make enough profits to cover their expenses, right? Any business that can do that will want to push the envelope further- or they wouldn't be very good at their job. If you want a typical government bureaucracy to handle student loans then let the U.S. Department of Education do them all. It looks like the colleges (at least the good ones) are going to vote with their feet, anyway. The Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) is on its last legs.
