Research Associate
Employment Opportunity
The New America Foundation is seeking full-time Research Associates who are interested in pursuing careers in the fields of public policy research, journalism, or related areas. Research Associates will support the work of New America’s Fellows and Policy Programs. This is a six-month position.

Primary Responsibilities
- Research and report on a wide variety of domestic and/or foreign public policy issues.
- Draft background memorandums.
- Edit, proofread, and fact-check a variety of policy reports and papers.
- Staff public events.
- Perform various administrative duties.
- Write summaries of events at the New America Foundation.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:- A bachelor’s degree;
- Proven research and analytical skills;
- Strong writing and editing skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis and other internet research tools;
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work and manage time in order to meet multiple deadlines;
- Knowledge of public policy and/or economics preferable, but not mandatory;
- Eagerness to learn about new fields of study; and
- Candidates should be flexible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic team players.
